New producer price formulas went into effect in Montana for Class II and Class III milk beginning in October 2018. The price formula changes have increased producer prices by approximately 4.3% (roughly $0.70/cwt). Most of the increase is attributable to the change in the Class III butterfat price formula, which is applied to approximately half of Montana's butterfat utilization.
